Pierre Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes October 8, 2009

Vice President Dave, WØNWT, called the meeting to order at 1935 hours, CDT.

Introductions of all members present were conducted.
Minutes of the previous meeting were referenced as published by the SECRETARY. Moved by Jim, KCØWVF, second by Jim, KDØS to approve as published. Passed.
TREASURER – Greg B. report. There are currently 7 members paid up for 2010. The Hughes County stipend has been received. The liability insurance bill has been received and was voted to be paid. It appears the club cleared some funds from the hamfest, subject to final bills and other activities.
ACTIVITIES – Jim W – The Trustees have updated the inventory. Copies should be available soon.
TECHNICAL – Jim Z – A new anemometer is need at W0PIR-15. The new weather station is not communicating with the TNC. This was a refurbished station.  Jim, KCØWVF, moved to purchase an additional weather station, a Peet Bros Model 100; 2nd by Greg, NØNPO, passed.
OLD BUSINESS – WØNWT, Dave, reported that the Pierre Hamfest was very successful. He will propose the possibility of continuing the hamfest next year. Exact financial data is not yet available until all the bills are paid and income tallied.
NEW BUSINESS – NØPIZ, John presented a bill for wiring supplies on the club trailer; KDØS, Jim moved and KCØWVF, Jim seconded to reimburse him for the costs. Passed.  KCØWVF, Jim reviewed a proposed legislation to make amateur radio a part of homeland security.  KDØS, Jim has done the ARES report which shows the time spent on ARES activities for net check-ins for weather spotting. He will send it to ARRL this weekend.

NOTE: Election of officers for CY 2010 will be at the December meeting. If you wish to run for any office, please make that known. A nominating committee will be appointed at the November meeting. Be certain to be present at the December meeting or you could be the next club secretary!
