<title>BeaconDestination</title>
<link>http://www.sdhams.com/Article36.html</link>
<description>// Destination ax.25 address of beaconBeaconDestination = APNU19-3The BeaconDestination is the AX.25 destination address field. It is typically set to represent a particular software package and version number that makes it identifiable o&amp;shy;n the network. There has been no specific software version type designator given to UIDIGI under the APRS Protocol Specification. However, o&amp;shy;n 20-SEP-02 Bob Bruninga recommended that &quot;APNU&quot; would be utilized for a UIDIGI network node. Thus, the APNUxx identifier is used to represent the controller type as a UIDIGI network node. The APRS Protocol Reference manual is available at www.tapr.org. During a UIDIGI group discussion o&amp;shy;n 19-NOV-05, I suggested using APNU19-3 to represent UIDIGI version 1.93. Normally, this would be an issue for the directional routing specification, but under the new APRS Paradigm Bob stated he was ready to relax the rules o&amp;shy;n these bits and that it was OK to use APNU19-3. Since directional routing is used so little o&amp;shy;n the network, the impact will be minimal.</description>
